Town Meeting on June 1st

Please take a moment to read some information about the Warrant Articles the Clinton Parks and Recreation Department is seeking support for at the town meeting.

Article 1: Savage Field Renovation Project-

Phase 1 ($646,196.52)

Phase 1 will mainly focus on reconstruction of the men’s softball field, designated parking area, fencing and safety netting, and improvements to the electrical system and irrigation system.

Article 2: Zero Turn Ride on Mower ($9,800)

The new mower will have a bigger mowing deck which will better allow for the maintenance of the turf at the parks and allow for us to maximize our work time. This piece of equipment will replace our current zero turn mower which is showing signs of age and not working properly.

Article 3: Tree Removal/ Maintenance in Central Park ($6,344)

Complete removal of the Oak Tree on the Corner of Walnut Street and Church Street and the Sugar Maple across from Town Hall. Both trees have suffered irreversible damage and for safety reasons must be taken down.

2.5 Over-ride

In conjunction with the School System, Library, and Senior Center the Clinton Parks and Recreation Department is asking for $20,037. This money will allow us to extend the hours that our seasonal park workers are employed, allow us to hire additional summer playground counselors and accept more participants into that program, and finally a portion of the funds will be allocated maintenance costs at Central Park.
