Hamilton Square

Hamilton Square

Hamilton Square is named for Perley R. Hamilton, who died in World War I.  Many know the park as “Depot Square” because of the park’s location and history. The park is located at the intersections of Main Street & Sterling Street, across from Water Street. The park is surrounded by many famous landmarks including the former Bigelow Carpet Mill and the Train Depot.  The park was recently voted to be the new home for the WWI Memorial Monument that is being donated by representatives of the James R. Kirby American Legion Post 50. Installation of the monument is scheduled to take place in late October 2012.
