First Thursday: Trivia Night

Free!

Test and expand your knowledge of Russian history and culture. We’ll be playing in teams and will have a broad range of questions. Bring your own team or be matched with others when you arrive. Geared towards adults and interested teens. Refreshments will be available by donation.

Free Museum admission for everyone on the first Thursday of each month from 4-8PM.

From the Vault: Icons of Ethiopia

This new mini-exhibit displays icons and artifacts from the Museum’s Ethiopian collection. Learn about the storied history of religious art in this ancient culture, and see our latest acquisition: an Ethiopian “magic scroll.”

Diaper-A-Day

WHAT: Church of the Good Shepherd will be hosting a diaper pantry for WIC clients & others, living in Clinton, Bolton, Sterling, Lancaster, Berlin or Boylston or WIC Clinton clients. Thirty free diapers per month are available for qualified children, newborn to age 3 1/2.

WHEN: First Wednesday of each month – 4:00-5:30 pm Third Tuesday of each month – 10:30 am- 12 pm (Recipients may pick up diapers once per month.)

WHERE: Church of the Good Shepherd, 209 Union Street, Clinton MA – 978-365-5169

Please bring your WIC Household ID number. If you are not enrolled in WIC, you must bring your child’s birth certificate to the first pick-up. Only parents or legal guardians may pick up diapers for a child. Diapers may be picked up once per month. For example, if you attend a Wednesday diaper pantry, you are not eligible to pick up more diapers at the Tuesday pantry in the same month.

It is our hope to supply diapers to all who qualify, but the reality is we may run out of diapers in certain sizes or run out of diapers completely. Your feedback and needs will be taken into consideration for any future diaper pantry openings.

Clinton Early Childhood Resource Center Newsletter – April Volume 1

The Clinton Early Childhood Resource Center: Offers programs, services, and resources for families with young children and early education & care professionals. Includes “Play School” and the Clinton Early Childhood Resource Center (CECRC) which maintains an extensive lending library of early childhood resources and is a central location to access various community resources.

While the tragedies of child abuse often dominate the headlines, we know that there are countless ways that people, organizations, and communities across the Commonwealth are taking the lead in stopping harm to children before it ever occurs.

Play School and Play Gym Update – An email was sent to families who indicated on their registration form that they would help with cleaning.  We are looking for a parent to coordinate.  Our cleaning parties are Fridays at 12:30pm – your child can still play as you help.  Thank you in advance. 

The Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP) still has openings in Clinton and Lancaster –  The PCHP offers a home based literacy support program to families with children ages 16 months – 4 years who live in Clinton, Lancaster, and Marlboro.   PCHP is funded through a Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) grant from the Mass. Knitting for Charity  – Brenda DiSessa a teacher at CMS is knitting for charity – pink scarves for the American Cancer Society at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.  Her contact will give the knitted items directly to cancer patients.   She is looking for others to join her in knitting for charity.  She plans to make the donation in September in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
